Sprouts Farmers Market Received the Excellence in Employment Award

(October 1, 2018) PathPoint applauds the Excellence in Employment Award given to Sprouts Farmers Market by the California Disability Services Association for its efforts to provide job opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities. Sprouts has worked with PathPoint to hire 20 individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Central and Southern California, in stores located in San Pedro, Woodland Hills, West Hills, La Canada, Burbank, Los Angeles, Goleta, Ventura, and Thousand Oaks.

“PathPoint values its partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market,” said Harry Bruell, PathPoint President and CEO. “Sprouts has recognized that individuals referred by PathPoint are among the most loyal, diligent and hard-working employees they have. They often receive compliments from customers on their work ethic. We are thrilled to see Sprouts recognized for its inclusive hiring practices.”

Sprouts provides individuals with developmental disabilities with the opportunity of paid, meaningful employment. Individuals from PathPoint’s employment programs are often hired as courtesy clerks responsible for bagging groceries, sweeping stores, checking bathrooms, returning merchandise, and collecting carts. Sprouts assists with accommodations such as adjusting workloads, tasks, and schedules tailored to an individual. Many Sprouts clerks supported by PathPoint note that they have great relationships with their supervisors and coworkers.
