Before joining the SCSEP program, Betty was employed with Systems Stationers in Santa Maria for 25 years. She started part time as a Sales Clerk and advanced to Store Manager with 5 employees to supervise. However, when she left, she had no retirement benefits. Drawing on unemployment and her widow’s pension, Betty needed to find a job fast.
On the advice of one of the PathPoint staff, Betty applied for the receptionist position in the PathPoint office in Santa Maria, and became gainfully employed with full time benefits.
