The Center

The Center in Thousand Oaks is PathPoint's behavioral and mental health rehabilitation day program that supports individuals with psychiatric disabilities and/or chronic mental illness by assiting with recovery, restoration, and relapse prevention. PathPoint contracts with Ventura County Behavioral Health and serves clients in the Conejo Valley (Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Camarillo).

PathPoint's goal is to provide a comfortable environment where clients have the tools and support they need to learn vital life skills, integrate with the community, and build meaningful relationships. Some programming takes place at PathPoint's facility in Thousand Oaks, whereas some activities take place directly in the community. Additional program goals include:

  • Increased social interactions & self-esteem building through communication skills groups, music therapy, creative writing, and peer support
  • Improved coping skills through groups focused on mindfulness, meditation and yoga
  • Independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting, public transportation, self-care and grooming, planning, and community outings
  • Employment skills such as resume building, punctuality, and computer skills
  • Community integration and awareness of local resources
  • Facilitation of peer and family support
  • Culturally sensitive and bilingual service delivery
