Before joining the SCSEP program, I was employed with Systems Stationers in Santa Maria for 25 years. I started part time as a Sales Clerk and advanced to Store Manager with 5 employees to supervise. When I left, I had no retirement benefits. I was drawing unemployment and my Widow’s pension. I needed to find a job fast. Thank goodness for the SCSEP program!! It encouraged and supported me in my time of uncertainty, in my ability to get a job and my ability to hope and look forward to brighter days ahead. On the advice of one of the PathPoint staff, I applied for the receptionist position in the PathPoint office in Santa Maria. I am now gainfully employed with full time benefits. I enjoy my job and the people I work with at the North Santa Barbara Division.
